This workshop will dive deep into what your profile should include (and what it shouldn’t!); how to use keywords to your advantage; how to craft a unique summary; and how to grow and maintain your network. We will focus in on the wide range of active and passive job search techniques that can be utilized on the platform. Dissertation erfolgreich verteidigt!
Wir gratulieren Arcadius Ahogle! Am 6. Februar 2024 hat er von Benin aus seine Doktorarbeit an der University of Kenyatta in Kenia sehr erfolgreich verteidigt, wobei die dritte Betreuerin im kooperativen Promotionsverfahren, Frau Prof. Dr. Gertrud Schaab, von der Hochschule Karlsruhe aus dazugeschaltet war. Die Online-Runde war groß mit acht Mitgliedern der Prüfungskommission, drei Betreuern und dem Vorsitzenden mit Assistenz und das Prozedere nicht nur für den Promovenden neu, sondern auch für seine Betreuerin aus Deutschland.

OPTIMIZING YOUR PROFILE POTENTIAL, ATTRACTING RECRUITERS & STRATEGIES FOR INCREASING YOUR INTERNSHIP AND JOB LEADS How It Works: Training + Profile Review This workshop consists of two (2) workshop days of two (2) hours each, for a total workshop time of four (4) hours. After workshop day #1 (LinkedIn™ basics and job search strategies), students have time to implement what was discussed in the workshop in preparation for workshop day #2 (profile building and optimizing). Students should plan to spend ca. 2 hours preparing for the workshop and 5-20 hours for completing their profile in-between the workshop days. Dissertation successfully defended
Congratulations to Arcadius Ahogle. On 6 February 2024, he very successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Kenyatta in Kenya from Benin, with his third supervisor in the cooperative doctoral procedure, Prof. Dr Gertrud Schaab, joining from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. The group meeting online was large with eight board members, three supervisors and the chair plus assistance, and the procedure new not only for the doctoral candidate, but also for his supervisor from Germany.

Congratulations on the successful PhD defence!
In January 2022 Deepthi Patric began working on her PhD at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, this within the WoPedyP project on “Place Dynamics and Women’s Perception – From Knowledge Coproduction to Transformative Pathways for Sustaining Peri-urban Livelihoods in Mankweng“, funded by BMFTR (formerly BMBF) and DSI/NRF (on the South African side). With the admission as a PhD student to the GAUSS Graduation School of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen the race against time started. On the 8th of January 2026 Ms Deepthi Patric now successfully defended her cooperatively supervised PhD thesis in Göttingen and is as such released from spending further time on her thesis.
