The partnership between the City of Brusque and Guabiruba, and its respective sister cities, Karlsruhe and Karlsdorf-Neuthard, reaches a new level. Leading to new cooperation between two universities being located more than 10.000 km apart. Attendees from the city government as well as professors from UNIFEBE visited our Laboratory of Ubiquitous Mobility Systems to discuss potential for a future cooperation. In the laboratory members of the IUMS team showed state of the art technologies like AR & VR technologies, visualisation platforms and some of their most recent research projects.
Particular Attention was paid to the research project that involves pedestrian participation (GoKarlsruhe). Highlighting the similarities of both research facilities, different projects from monitoring road conditions to automated counting of human presence, with small embedded sensors, were discussed.
Finally, research subjects like SmartHome, SmartLab and the development of a mobility concept for the City of Brusque could be identified as subject of further cooperation. We look forward to cooperating with the UNIFEBE and the City of Brusque in many interesting fields.
