How do I apply for a study place?
In order to apply for a master's program at HKA, whether it is a regular program or a continuing education master's program, please use the online HKA application portal. Please use the links below for a brief guide and for the list of degree programs for which you can currently apply. In addition, you can directly access the applicant portal if you do not need the instructions.
Master, first semester
The application deadline for the winter semester 25/26 is June 15, 2025 in case of the Tricontinental Master in Global Studies program and July 15, 2025 for the other master's programs. You can apply for the following degree programs for the winter semester 2025/26 entry:
Step 1: Applying online
In order to apply for a master's degree program you need to use the online application form. You apply using exclusively our HKA applicant portal. When you are finished with editing your application please activate the data filled in online with “submit online”.

Advance semester
The application portal is open for applications to a higher semester for winter semester 2025/26 entry from April 28 to October 9, 2025.
Please apply directly via the University's application portal. You apply using exclusively our HKA applicant portal. These are online applications only, i.e. you are not required to send any hardcopy documents to HKA.

Second degree studies
Application for a second master's degree follows the above application steps for the first semester. In addition, we require the master's degree certificate and a letter of motivation explaining why you are interested in the second program.
