German Schools abroad
Supported through the "Deutsche Auslands- und Partnerschulen" (German Schools Abroad and Partner Schools, BIDS) program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), HAWtech , under the leadership of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, established a network with German schools abroad in order to support their graduates in their transition to studying in Germany.
In terms of content, BIDS is included in the "Schulen: Partner der Zukunft" (Schools: Partners for the Future, PASCH) initiative launched by the German Foreign Office, in which the DAAD, the Pädagogische Austauschdienst (Central Agency for Schools Abroad, ZfA), the Goethe Institute, and the Pedagogical Exchange Service (PAD) participate. The PASCH network includes all German schools abroad as well as selected schools in the national education systems of the partner countries that offer the German Language Diploma or qualified instruction in German as a foreign language.
As part of the BIDS program, HKA organized study days together with its HAWtech partners to inform students from PASCH schools about the special features of studying at a university of applied sciences (HAW), to give them an insight into everyday study life with the help of a taster program and by meeting German students, and also to introduce them to the country and people at the individual HAWtech locations with a cultural program.
Outside of BIDS, HKA is always open to cooperation with German schools abroad or other schools abroad where German is particularly important and whose students therefore have best prospects for studying at HKA.
