International Management

Profile

Fit for national and international business

The International Management (IMTM) degree program has first and foremost business administration as a subject, but due to its interdisciplinary character it goes far beyond a classic business administration degree. With the possibility to set your own focus as well as thanks to a variety of electives, you will hone your profile towards the future career you have in mind.

With a degree in International Management, many paths are open to you. Our graduates analyze processes, lead teams or manage projects in companies at home and abroad.

This master's degree program will enable you to quickly and independently familiarize yourself with special topics, as well as train your communication and methodical and analytical skills. Our successful graduates are characterized by their broad specialist knowledge and interdisciplinary perspective.

Time and again, top ratings in Germany's leading university rankings , such as the CHE ranking, prove our degree program and graduates to be highly sought after.

Study variants:

Becoming a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in 2 or 3 semesters

The IMTM program is offered as a methodical-analytical program in two semesters in study option A or, in study option B with the specialization digitalization with a duration of three semesters.

Most courses take place in the form of lectures and seminars. This is supplemented by one or two intermediate colloquia (depending on the chosen study variant A or B), in which you will train to present your own research results in the context of your master's thesis in an effective way and to put them up for discussion.

And after graduating? Your career!

Graduates are readily employed by large corporations as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or in management consultancies and, thanks to their interdisciplinary studies, are able to grow quickly into management roles, both at national and international level. Our graduates usually find employment in business or industry within a very short time. If you prefer to work in academia and research, the option of a doctorate is open to you.

Who is the program aimed at?

Of course, you should have an interest in business administration issues and an international environment - ideally, you have already demonstrated this in your bachelor's studies. The ideal qualification would be a first degree in business administration or management.

If you have the wish and motivation to further improve the interests you developed in your bachelor's studies, if you would like to deepen your knowledge of a particular subject, and if you would like to "sink your teeth" into a particular field, then this master's degree program is the right choice for you.

For example, you can participate in research projects in our laboratories and, based on this, find a topic for your thesis.

If you prefer to prove your knowledge by practical application in a company: In the 3-semester variant, you can also flexibly choose to write your thesis in cooperation with a company.

Good German and English skills are an important requirement in both cases.

You should have/be:

  • extensive knowledge of business administration
  • interested in academic work
  • able to work in a team
  • very good proficiency in German and English

A graduate reports

Heidi Heimberger is a graduate of the 2-semester study variant.

"During the master's studies, I was able to specifically deepen my knowledge in the business and technical areas. In addition to taking core subjects, I had many elective options and thus an individual study plan - tailored to my specialization and interests.”
