Institute of Materials and Processes

Profile

Who are we?

The Institute of Materials and Processes (IMP) deals with the design, analysis and quality control of manufacturing processes. For this purpose, modern computer-aided methods such as artificial intelligence, machine and process simulation, and statistical design of experiments are used.

A special unique selling point is our materials testing technology/expertise, which allows detailed analysis of materials and process results.

What do we offer?

For many years, the Institute of Materials and Processes has successfully developed methods, processes, and machines and implemented them in R&D projects.

Due to many years of experience, we can offer a wide range of expertise in different topics. Our goal is to transfer this knowledge and know-how from research to industry.

We aim to cooperate with companies that want to gain a market advantage with innovative ideas. We can support industrial partners in implementing these development projects in the following ways, among others:

  • Contract research
  • Feasibility studies
  • Tool life tests
  • Process analyses (e.g. force measurements, vibration analyses, high-speed recordings, statistical test planning ...)
  • Developing of improvement measures (e.g. to increase process stability, reduce throughput times ...)
  • Training courses
  • Support with application (ZIM cooperation projects)

Thanks to the large number of funding programs, there is also the possibility of implementing complex and costly development projects and thus minimizing the risks of innovative projects. These include for example:

  • ZIM
  • FH-Kooperativ

If you are interested in a cooperation or ideas for development projects, please contact us for a non-binding consultation.
