This is how your studies are structured
During your basic studies, you will acquire skills and knowledge in electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, and digital technology. In the advanced studies starting in the third semester, you will expand your skills in one of the following specialization subjects:
• Industrial Automation
• Electromobility and Autonomous Systems
• Power Engineering and Renewable Energy
• Information Technology
• Sensor Technology
• Environmental Instrumentation
You will spend the fifth semester at a company
The fifth semester is an internship semester, and in the seventh and last semester our students write their final thesis.
If you want to you can later work as a teacher
In cooperation with the Pädagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe University of Education), you can acquire the qualification for teaching at vocational schools in all specializations.
As early as your Bachelor's studies, you can spend a semester abroad
The study program is given an international orientation by an optional semester abroad at our partner universities, the University in Alabama/USA or the Polytechnic University of Timisoara/Romania.
Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in English?
The new English-language Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology offers an international orientation with additional German-language classes.
Would you like to earn a dual Bachelor's degree in German and French?
We offer a double degree with parallel studies at the Institut National des Sciences Apliquées (INSA) Strasbourg.
Fancy a Master's degree? We have just the thing.
After obtaining your Bachelor's degree you can join a Master's program an at the Faculty. You can choose between these fields of study:
Are you interested in Sensor Systems Technology and would like to do your Master's studies in English? Then the Master’s in Sensor Systems Technology is exactly what you are looking for. Additionally, this program offers a dual degree at Vellore University in South India.
A cross-faculty Master's degree is available, offered jointly with the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics as well as with the Faculty of Management Science and Engineering, which is called Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
Another possibility for a dual degree is offered by Ryerson Universität in Toronto (Canada). Of the total of four semesters, you complete two semesters each in Karlsruhe and in Toronto and acquire the Canadian "Master of Engineering” along with the German "Master of Science".
And if you speak very good French, it is a good option to obtain such a dual degree at the Institut National des Sciences Apliquées (INSA) Strasbourg .
