Information Technology
Studying Information Technology
Digital, networked, high-tech - our modern world is based on the clever combination of electrical engineering and information technology. No matter in which area, be it smartphones & co., smart homes, networked mobility, robotics or Industry 4.0: Information is generated, collected, stored, transmitted, and networked everywhere.
Information technology is the brain of the digital world. Would you like to help shape its future? Combining theory and practice, and applying computer science practically? Then the specialization in Information Technology is just right for you!

A student talks about his experiences
Deniz Braun: The wide range of lectures is what I especially like about the Information Technology specialization. For basic studies, the mathematical and electrotechnical fundamentals are covered, and information technology is further explored in the course of the program. As the world becomes more and more interconnected, there is a need to process the ever-increasing flood of information. Whether in our professional life or in our leisure time. Information technology accompanies us in all areas of life and therefore, when graduating, you also have the choice to work in many different industries.
A graduate talks about his experiences
Philipp Fetzer: The degree gives you access to an incredibly broad choice of career fields. In my opinion, you don't just acquire the skills to pursue a demanding engineering profession - because this one engineering profession doesn't exist. As an engineer in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology you are not tied down, you still have a high degree of freedom to decide where your career path leads. And if you ever want to change your career it's much easier to leave the path you've chosen.
