Applied Materials Science

The department "Applied Materials Science" is part of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics (MMT), at the same time belonging to the "Institute of Materials and Processes". Our tasks are:

• Teaching of students, especially at the Faculty MMT
• Research and development in the field of applied materials science
• Services for trade and industry

Research and research-related development cover:

• Material simulation from the micro- to the macroscale, simulations for additive manufacturing and tribology
• Material and microstructure characterization to verify and optimize numerical simulation methods
• Development and optimization of new manufacturing technologies
• Research collaboration with industrial companies
• Project theses and final theses
