Mechatronics

Profile

Comprehensive and geared towards to future

Studying Mechatronics means taking up an interdisciplinary field of engineering. It combines the three subjects of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science.

This combination makes the degree particularly diverse and exciting, as you gain a broad range of knowledge and an excellent foundation for the professional world.

All the knowledge in demand in the engineering world today, in one perfect combination

Mechatronics makes products intelligent and simple. It doesn't matter whether these are devices for everyday life, such as household appliances and coffee machines, or large systems for industry, such as industrial robots.

Engineers who can demonstrate knowledge from various fields and understand how products work as an entity can later choose between many areas of activity in their professional life.

Specialize in one focal subject - Mechatronics makes it possible

At Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, students can study modern specializations such as robotics or bionics from the fourth semester onwards. Those who would rather specialize in microtechnology: We have a modern ISO 1000 clean room for hands-on work accompanying teaching and research - an opportunity that only a few universities offer.

With the two other specializations Aeronautical Engineering as well as Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Environmental Technology, students also have the opportunity to become a flight test engineer or to actively work on environmental protection by green technologies.

Who is the program aimed at?

Basically, you should of course be interested in technology. Are you curious, do you like to tinker, do you have an eye for detail and do you think logically? Are you interested in many different things and want to understand how they are connected? That's perfect! And if math, physics or chemistry weren't too difficult for you at school - welcome to the Mechatronics program.
