Studying Mechatronics - and afterwards?

Mechatronics engineers can be competently employed as "all-rounders" both in mechanical engineering and in electrotechnical environments. Typically, they develop systems, and for this they need a general and far-reaching technical knowledge. This is why they are in great demand in industry - e.g. as development engineers, project managers or later in technical management. In short, Mechatronics studies is the ideal field for technically interested students who do not want to commit themselves to one subject at the beginning of their studies, but, upon graduation, can still choose from many career options the one that suits them best.

The fields of activity for Mechatronics engineers are diverse

  • Research and development
  • Technical consulting
  • Sales, marketing, service
  • Production, manufacturing

Areas of work of future Mechatronics engineers

  • Mechanical and plant engineering
  • Electrical engineering and electronics
  • Automotive and aviation industry
  • Industrial Automation
  • Robotics microsystems and precision engineering
  • Print and media technology
  • Audio and video industry
  • Medical technology
