Communication and Media Management

Profile Content

About the program

The Master's program in Communication and Media Management is characterized by the fact that you can set your own content priorities by choosing your own courses. You can take several electives from one subject area so that you can focus on the aspect of technical communication that is most interesting to you. The list of electives is revised regularly and new content is offered all the time. This allows for exciting and challenging combinations, as well as a real immersion in the subject areas.

Possible subfields for in-depth study are:

  • Information management
  • Language and communication
  • Technical Communication
  • Design
  • Multimedia

In addition to the electives, you will receive an introduction to media law and related principles, evaluations and structures that apply specifically to media. You will also study the disciplines of science and epistemology and deal with fundamental problems of human cognition as well as the prerequisites, methods and goals of science.

The Master's program is rounded off by key qualifications from the General Studies program. Here you have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of courses and either prepare yourself further for your future professional life or continue your education out of personal interest. We regularly review which of the courses are suitable for the degree program in order to give you as many options to choose from as possible.

Finally, the program concludes with a thesis in the third semester. The professors will support you in selecting the topic and will be ready to advise you during the six-month processing period. After the colloquium, you will receive the academic degree Master of Science and have the possibility to do a doctorate. For this purpose, we cooperate with various partner universities with which the program maintains good contacts.
