ALPAKA offers two central, free formats at the HKA to support your personal and professional development: compact workshops and individual coaching sessions.

In addition to our own formats, we also recommend selected further training courses from external providers that are specially tailored to the needs of doctoral candidates and academic staff.

Workshops to promote scientific skills

In cooperation with the Institute for Scientific Continuing Education (IWW), we offer future-oriented, free continuing education courses for academic staff, doctoral students and lecturers.

For approval , simply speak to your supervisor about this. If necessary, you can apply for up to 5 days of educational leave per year for further training.

Science in transition: Positioning for the future with Future Skills

When: Thursday, November 13, 2025 | 08:30 - 16:00

The world of work is changing rapidly - technological innovations, digital transformation and social upheaval are presenting us with new challenges. Future skills are crucial for actively shaping this change.

Work efficiently with Chat GPT and AI tools

When: Wednesday, November 19, 2025 | 08:30 - 16:00

Where: Online

Learn how to use AI tools for text creation, data processing and presentation, what opportunities and challenges they bring - and how they fit productively into your everyday life.

Workshop content:

  • Possible uses of Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI's GPT-4, other AI tools
  • AI as a research tool
  • Creating texts with AI: blog posts, social media posts, workshop concepts, etc.
  • Programming with AI: creating presentations, solving Excel problems, etc.
  • Tips and tricks for working with artificial intelligence
  • Integration of AI tools into everyday working life
  • Outlook Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365
  • Limits and challenges of AI

More visibility for your research: making contacts that will further your work

Developing creative solutions for complex challenges with design thinking
