Project Bachelor International

As part of the BA.International@HKA project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, HKA significantly expands its portfolio of internationalization.

The BA.International project, designed as a cross-sectional project, enables students from all faculties and almost all degree programs to internationalize their academic studies through qualified stays abroad, acquisition of foreign language skills, and intercultural competencies. To facilitate this, the study program is extended by a BAföG-eligible semester. At the same time, the project promotes "Collaborative Online International Learning" (COIL), driving the digitalization of universities and the international cooperation of teachers and students.

The unique feature of the Bachelor International program is its flexibility. Following a modular concept, students can fulfill the necessary requirements to obtain the Bachelor International degree or, alternatively, acquire the "Certificate of International and Intercultural Competence" (CIIC) throughout their course of study. This allows them to prepare not only professionally but also personally for the evolving challenges of the professional world.

The implementation of this study program variant is centrally coordinated by the International Office of HKA. Additionally, the project aims to create new courses with innovative content and teaching methods, some of which are partially or fully digitized. These courses are developed in collaboration with the "TAItech" network, which comprises a total of 6 universities from Taiwan. The development of the courses is supported by an Instructional Designer at the Center for Teaching Innovation.
