VERPUSA

The compressor is one of the core components in a refrigeration cycle. No air conditioner, no refrigerator and no heat pump are functional without a corresponding compressor. Against this background, it quickly becomes clear that an enormous number of refrigerant compressors are on the market worldwide and need to be replaced regularly. As a result, the project aims to show that comparatively inexpensive measurement technology can be used to achieve good signal analysis and correlation with other signals, such as pressure and temperature. The innovation and research achievement lies in the fact that targeted monitoring of compressors and pumps, also taking into account the machine vibrations and, if necessary, the noise emission, opens up the possibility for the machine operator to foresee machine failures (subject area of predictive maintenance) and, if necessary, to act accordingly.
