Snow cabin

Snow cabin

Nachempfunden became the snow cabin the traditions from Scandinavia and Russia, where it is usual to go after a hot classical sauna or steam bath to cool down in the snow. Thus, a snow cabin is particularly suitable for latitudes in which this is not possible throughout the year.
Current snow cabins usually use artificial snow for this purpose, which has significantly different properties than natural snow. Natural snow consists of dendritic, hexagonal snow crystals, which are voluminously layered. As a result, it is perceived as soft. Artificial snow from snow cannons consists of frozen water drops and is therefore round and spherical. Due to the more compact layering, artificial snow is perceived as hard.
The aim of the project is to develop an apparatus for the production of nature-identical, dendritic snow crystals for indoor applications in the spa sector.

Current information about the project

Currently, relevant parameters for snow generation are being detected in various tests. Based on the results, a prototype is being developed and investigated.
