10 Days of INGENIUM

Network of European universities meets in France and Romania

The third "10 Days of INGENIUM" took place from May 20-31, 2024 in Iaşi (Romania) and Rouen (France).

June 4, 2024

As usual, the program was very diverse. The Junior Summer School at the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iaşi(TUIASI) began on May 20. For the participating Bachelor students, the five-day program was all about product development: “Print your mind in 3D - Empower your creativity”. Intercultural workshops rounded off the program, which concluded in the evenings with events such as a concert or a gala dinner.

In parallel to the Junior Summer School, teachers from all 10 partner universities exchanged ideas on innovative teaching methods during the Staff Academy. Staff also came together in various working meetings and committees to further advance the INGENIUM European University. The INGENIUM European Campus Academic Committee (IEC-AC) met for the first time following its nomination by the INGENIUM Alliance Council in February this year. The IEC-AC is the highest academic body of the European University and is represented by one professor from each partner university as well as students from five partner universities, who alternate on a rotating basis. The Academic Committee dealt with the further development of the IEC and focused in particular on the guidelines for joint degree programs and the development of a framework for so-called open degrees.

The second half of the “10 Days of INGENIUM” took place at the Université de Rouen Normandie(URN) in France from May 27 to 31. The motto was “Healthy body, healthy campus: Building a sustainable INGENIUM future” and was aimed at Master's students, doctoral students and post-docs. Participants worked in international teams to examine various aspects of waste management and biodiversity. They dealt intensively with climate change using the "Climate Fresk" workshop and competed against each other in ten disciplines in the INGENIUM Olympic Tournament.

Meetings of various working groups and the steering committee were also held in Rouen at the same time as the Summer School. The supporting program offered plenty of opportunities for international networking with a city tour, joint evening events and the award ceremony for the winners of the “INGENIUM Olympic Games” and the Sustainable INGENIUM Challenge.

Anyone interested in experiencing the INGENIUM European University in person will have the opportunity to do so at the next “10 Days of INGENIUM” from February 10-14, 2025 at the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) in Finland and from February 17-21, 2024 at the Universidad de Oviedo (UNIOVI) in Spain.
