Personal data
Extent of the personal data processing
Every time our webpages are accessed and a file is opened the following data are stored:
1. General data for use of webpages (logfiles)
- Requested URL
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- If applicable, returned error message
- Byte size of the answer
The legal basis for the processing of this information is § 100 TKG (1), i.e. ensuring the correct operation of the website. The logfiles are deleted after 7 days.
2. In addition, the University locally uses the web analytics tool Matomo 3.13.5. to analyze coverage. I. e. the University can understand which webpage content was accessed and used how often. The software is configured in a way to make anonymous the IP addresses. The data is not passed on or analyzed by a third party. The legal basis for the processing of this information is article 6 (1) e.).
3. Data input in a web form
All input of data in a web form is on a voluntary basis. The purposes are stated on the respective web form.
The legal basis are article 6 (1) para. a.) (consent) or e.) (processing for the task fulfillment of the University). The associated data are deleted as soon as they are no longer required to process the inquiry.
4. Registering in the restricted area (members of the University only)
For login to the restricted area, no data are stored or recorded. Therefore, it is not possible to generate user profiles or similar.
Integrating videos by third party providers (in this case: Youtube)
When using our website no data are transferred automatically to Youtube. However, we make available videos on the platform Youtube, which are also made available on this website. Your data are transferred and the video is shown only after you click on the video and give your consent for the transfer to Youtube. Youtube then processes your data for its own uses at its own responsibility.
Passing on user data to a third party
We do not pass on user data to a third party. (Exception: Youtube, see above).
Rights of the users of our webpages
Right to be informed
As a matter of principle, you have the right to obtain information about the data stored on the web server (or generally at the University). You can place your request with the responsible person, e.g. via the email address dsgvo@hs-karlsruhe.de.
Right to rectification
You have the right to obtain the rectification of personal data concerning you if you have the impression that these are not correct; by placing your request e.g. at the same email address.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
