Paul Reinhold

In spring 2019, Paul Reinhold was faced with the difficult decision of how he wanted to shape his professional future. He became aware of the OSKAR orientation semester when visiting the Campus Day.
"I saw it as an opportunity to take a look at as many different degree courses as possible to find out what appeals to me the most." After gaining an insight into the lectures on building construction, business administration, and mathematics, he decided at the end of the orientation semester to study Construction Management & Economics. In the first semester, he had Mathematics I from OSKAR recognized, which made it easier for him to start his studies. "I'm now in my 4th semester and I'm still very happy with my choice. Without the orientation semester, I would never have considered studying construction, so I would always opt for an orientation semester after my Abitur. It gave me an insight into the various degree programs, but at the same time introduced me to a student's everyday life and learning rhythm."

Benjamin Anderer

Benjamin Anderer successfully completed the OSKAR orientation semester in the summer semester 2019. After leaving school, he was equally interested in the study programs Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics at the MMT faculty.
"In addition to the projects with fellow students, the lectures of the participating degree programs that you are allowed to attend also helped with the decision. The mathematics course also lays a good foundation for the math lectures that await you on all degree programs, regardless of which one you choose. In the end, I opted for Automotive Engineering, I am very happy with my choice of course and look forward to passing on my knowledge as a computer science tutor in the upcoming semester."

Marlon-Philipp Junker

After graduating from higher secondary school, Marlon-Philipp Junker was an OSKAR student at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in the 2020/21 winter semester. He benefited from OSKAR because he was able to take a closer look at the University's degree programs and at the same time get to know everyday life and university procedures. His summary of the OSKAR semester: "After successfully completing the orientation semester, I opted for the Electrical Engineering & Information Technology degree program, here I was able to smoothly continue my studies. In addition to my studies, I will support the next OSKAR students in the summer semester 2021 as a tutor in mathematics. Personally, the orientation course helped me make my decision and I can look back on a great semester."

Heiko Roll

Heiko Roll decided to take part in the OSKAR orientation semester in the 2020/21 winter semester because he was not entirely confident about his decision to study, also four years had passed since he left school before beginning his studies. OSKAR made it easier for him to start studying and get used again to learning. At the same time, he gained insights into various faculties: "If you already have a study program in mind for later, as was the case for me, OSKAR can give you confirmation that you've made the right choice with your desired program. You can also write exams at the end of the semester, which can be credited towards your future studies." He stayed at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences after OSKAR and is now studying Industrial Engineering & Management at the Faculty of Management Science & Engineering.
