Business Information Systems (B.Sc.)

Structure of the program

The standard period of study for the Bachelor in Business Information Systems is seven semesters. The study program is divided into two semesters of basic studies and 5 semesters of advanced studies. An internship is scheduled in the fifth semester.

In addition to the compulsory lectures, from the sixth semester of the advanced studies onwards there is the opportunity to specialize through various elective subjects, e.g. with a focus on computer science or business informatics. The final Bachelor's thesis can be written in cooperation with a company - even abroad.

Study content

Sudying Business Information Systems should enable you to design, introduce and support business IT systems in companies. We teach the necessary technical and interdisciplinary skills through a balanced mix of courses from the fields of computer science, business informatics, economics and mathematics, as well as social and personal skills. We follow the recommended standards of associations and commissions, such as the Gesellschaft für Informatik (German Informatics Society, GI).

Study track "Successful Start”

The project "Erfolgreich Starten" (successful start) offers the possibility to split the courses of the first semester. This means that you can spread the courses of the first semester over two semesters, and are offered, at the same time, additional supporting courses and exercises.

Languages

The courses are taught in German language, individual lectures are held in English as language of instruction. At the university's own Foreign Language Institute all students can deepen their own language skills in lessons with native speakers.
