Profil

Did you know?

Did you know that refrigeration and air conditioning systems account for 15% of Germany's electricity consumption and 15% of Germany's CO2 emissions come from households? Or that clean drinking water is a luxury in many places on earth?
These are all topics that have become increasingly important in the course of climate change and that we cover at the Institute of Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Environmental Engineering (IKKU).

Who are we?

The Institute of Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Environmental Engineering is the largest cross-faculty research institute at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.  Climate and environment are formative topics in the present and the future, which nine professors and over 40 research staff, doctoral students and students research in six research groups
