More than 1,800 participants at HKA, joined by numerous students from INGENIUM partner universities, will take part simultaneously in parallel Climate Fresk workshops. This will create a unique, Europe-wide collective learning experience that not only raises awareness of the climate crisis but also inspires participants to take action and stand together for climate protection.
At the invitation of HKA, four INGENIUM partner universities will organize their own local Climate Fresk workshops in parallel:
- Sweden (HIS): 7 participants
- France (URN): 315 participants
- Romania (TUIASI): 80 participants
- Ireland (MTU): 14 participants
By hosting these workshops at the same time, the INGENIUM alliance will demonstrate how European universities stand united for sustainability. Together we send a clear message: climate awareness and sustainable action are most effective when Europe works together.
What is the Climate Fresk?
The Climate Fresk is a three-hour interactive workshop that makes the functioning of the climate system tangible. Using 42 cards, the scientific findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are presented in an accessible way. In around 200 teams at HKA, participants will arrange the cards into cause-and-effect chains, revealing the complex, systemic nature of climate change.
What makes the Climate Fresk special is the combination of scientific accuracy with interactive, hands-on learning. The workshop transforms abstract data into a clear, visual, and shared experience. Through teamwork and discussion, participants not only acquire knowledge but also develop the motivation to act and work together on solutions for climate protection.
Experience and Previous Successes
The organizing team brings extensive experience. One of the project initiators, a board member for education at Climate Fresk Deutschland e.V., has already led numerous large-scale Climate Fresk workshops, some with more than 200 participants. Building on this expertise, the 2025 event will set new standards for collaborative climate education.
Supporting Program at HKA
In addition to the Climate Fresk itself, participants at HKA can look forward to an engaging supporting program with activity stands, short input sessions, and opportunities for exchange and networking. This makes the event more than just a workshop – it becomes a vibrant space for inspiration and commitment.
