Building cultural bridges: Intercultural competencies in university cooperation

On April 9th + May 7th, 2025, the workshop Intercultural Competence for academic and administrative

administrative staff of the HKA will take place.

The workshop Intercultural Competence for academic and administrative staff at HKA will take place in spring 2025. 

CONTENT
  • Reflection on one's own and the foreign - Critical examination of one's own cultural imprint
  • Consideration of differences in intercultural communication
  • Influence of cultural values on working practices and cooperation in intercultural teams (e.g. dealing with time management, rules, hierarchy and decisions)
  • Culturally based conflict styles
  • Networking in an intercultural context
  • Development of own courses of action for competent international and intercultural cooperation in the academic context
LEARNING GOALS
  • Participants expand their own intercultural competence
  • Participants assess their own strengths and weaknesses in regard to international cooperation
  • Participants strive for networks and cooperation in intercultural contexts

  • Workshop: April 9th  2025, 9:00 - 17:00 at the IWW (Technologiepark)
  • In-depth training on dealing with culturally induced conflicts (optional): May 7th 2025, 9:00 - 13:00, online (Zoom)
