Kick Off of the INGENIUM Joint Research Group “Design-for-X of a powertrain for efficient and low-cost electric traction”

Research cooperation between the Institute for Energy Efficient Mobility (IEEM) and partner universities in Romania and Spain

From October 9 to 11, 2024, members of the Institute for Energy Efficient Mobility at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences visited researchers from the  „Gheorghe Asachi“ Technical University of Iaşi (TUIASI) to advance the establishment of a research cooperation within the framework of the INGENIUM Joint Research Groups. After a warm welcome by the project coordinator Dorin Dumitru Lucache and his team, the partners discussed their research activities and the exchange of knowledge in the project “Design-for-X of a powertrain for efficient and low-cost electric traction”.

This Joint Research Group focuses on the development of more efficient powertrains for electric vehicles. Key competences ofthe partners are the optimization of powertrains, energy management and simulation as well as the identification of new raw materials for electric motors. The project is led by the professors Dorin Dumitru Lucache (TUIASI), Reiner Kriesten (HKA) and Jaime Viña from the Universität Oviedo (UNIOVI).
