The Marketing and Sales Laboratory at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences is led by Prof. Dr. Marion Murzin.

It provides students with the opportunity to engage in various hands-on activities through role-playing exercises, including:

  • Telephone acquisition using a professional call center system
  • Role-playing in realistic sales scenarios
  • Analysis of advertisements, product handling, and in-store walking patterns using an eye-tracking device

Equipment

The laboratory offers the following facilities:

  • A call center with 16 telephone workstations, each equipped with a double headset. These workstations also facilitate trainer-trainee interactions.
  • A simulated industrial office in which role-plays with with various customer scenarios can be conducted.
  • A high-performance camera with a conference microphone used to record the role plays, with the recordings being analyzed in detail afterward.

Courses

The Laboratory for Marketing and Sales is primarily used in the Bachelor's degree program.

In addition to the aforementioned role plays, where each student is required to take on the roles of both a buyer and a salesperson at least once, students must also dedicate four hours per semester to generating leads through cold calling acquisition.

The Marketing and Sales Laboratory is used exclusively for teaching purposes.
