Computer Science and Media

The Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science and Media at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences combines media design with computer science, so that you will be able to design and program multimedia software systems. This well-balanced mixture of technology and design opens up, in addition to computer science-related jobs, a wide range of creative jobs in advertising agencies, game software companies or in film and television. 

Technology and design - optimal mixture of your study contents

The technical part of your studies includes relevant contents of computer science. Depending on the selection of individual study options, the technical content makes up up to 70 percent of your studies. Parallel to this, design and multimedia topics are on the timetable: Basics of media design, the conception and design of websites, apps, computer games, virtual worlds and innovative user interfaces.

Your opportunities after graduating

After a standard period of study of  seven semesters, you can enter the professional world directly with a "Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)" degree in Computer Science and Media. Or you can deepen your know-how in our Master's degree program in Computer Science, for example by choosing the specialization "Media Informatics".

Anja Buchmaier is studying Computer Science and Media (formerly Computer Science, Media and Communications) in the 5th semester. She is planning her internship semester in the summer semester 2021 at the company inovex GmbH in Karlsruhe, where she will work self-organized on a project and get deep insights into the Agile way of working, as well as learning and using the required programming languages.
