HKA offers new service for students from abroad

In the future, students from abroad will be able to take the German Language Test for University Admission (DSH) at HKA. This service is also open to applicants for other universities.

November 16, 2021

Students coming from abroad to study in Germany must provide proof of sufficient German language skills for their application, for example by taking the German Language Test for University Admission (DSH). Until now, applicants to the HKA had to go to another university to provide this proof, which meant a great deal of organizational effort for those concerned. Now HKA is further expanding its service for international students by offering the DSH at its own Institute for Foreign Languages for the first time this winter semester and issuing certificates that are recognized throughout Germany. In this way, HKA reduces the organizational hurdles for students from abroad in applying and strengthens its international orientation. Priority is given to future students of HKA; if places are available, they can also be used by applicants for other universities.

Participants receive intensive training before the exam. In a four-day crash course, they can get to know and practice the exam format. They can also take language courses and prepare for the exam throughout the semester. The first DSH exam at HKA will take place on February 11, 2022.
