Laboratory for Data Science

The Laboratory for Data Science at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences is led by Prof. Dr. Andreas Wagner.

The laboratory is equipped with hardware and software for solving problems in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI). It supports data acquisition, processing, and visualization.

Lab resources can be booked via ILIAS, where detailed usage instructions are also available.

Equipment

The laboratory currently provides access to:

  • Two high-performance servers, each equipped with multiple Nvidia GPUs and multi-core CPUs for training machine and deep learning models
  • A workstation with Nvidia GPUs
  • A 3D laser scanner for object capture (Faro 150)
  • A drone with dual cameras (DJI Air 3)
  • Large touch monitors for data visualization
  • Video conferencing equipment for project meetings
  • Workstations for researchers and students in Faculty W working on data science-related theses
