Cooperation scholarship

Targeted support for your own studies

With the cooperation scholarships, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences has its own scholarship programs to support its best students. These scholarships, which are funded by private donors, are awarded by the university in various branches of studies and study phases. In the case of the cooperation scholarship, the private sponsor is involved in the selection of the scholarship recipients. In addition to the financial support of usually €300 per month, our cooperation partners offer you the opportunity to benefit from their know-how and, for example, to get to know the sponsoring company through mentoring programs, working student positions or thesis positions and to build up a strong network for your professional future.

Our cooperation scholarships

Karslruhe University of Applied Sciences is currently awarding a scholarship together with

  • amiconsult GmbH a scholarship for students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems,
  • Christian Bürkert Stiftung a scholarship for first-year Master's students in the field of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology,
  • Mailänder Consult GmbH a scholarship for students of the Civil Engineering degree program from the 2nd semester onwards
  • Siemens AG an award scholarship for Bachelor students in the degree programs Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (German and English program), Computer Science, Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence in the Engineering Sciences,
  • TI Fluid Systems Scholarship for students from the 3rd semester in the MINT subjects, in particular mechanical engineering and meachtronics
  • VDE Mittelbaden e.V. a scholarship for students in the 2nd semester of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (German Program),
  • Vector Informatik GmbH a scholarship for students of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (German Program) and Computer Science (& Media) from the 2nd semester onwards.

amiconsult Champions Scholarship

With the amiconsult Champions Scholarship for students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, with the support of amiconsult GmbH, supports students who are expected to achieve or have already achieved outstanding academic and professional results. The scholarship includes a monthly grant of 300 euros for up to 12 months. As part of the non-material support, the scholarship holder can expect a mentoring program as well as invitations to exchange meetings and workshops. If interested, there is also the opportunity to take up a paid internship, a working student position or a thesis position.

Christian Bürkert Scholarship

With the scholarship program, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and the Christian Bürkert Foundation support Master's students in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in their first semester with a scholarship of €300 per month, usually for 12 months. On request, the scholarship holder will be assigned a mentor who can provide support through a close exchange on technical and personal topics. Invitations to events round off the accompanying offer.

Call for applications for a scholarship starting in the summer semester 2024

As part of the cooperation scholarship, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) is offering a Master's scholarship program for the Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (EIT) for the summer semester 2024 and winter semester 2024/25.

With the scholarship program, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, with the support of the Christian Bürkert Foundation, supports high-performing female students starting their Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with a scholarship of €300 per month for 12 months as a rule. On request, the scholarship holder will be assigned a mentor by the private sponsor, who can provide support through a close exchange on technical and personal topics. Invitations to events round off the accompanying offer. All activities are voluntary and based on personal commitment and have no effect on the granting of the scholarship.

Students who meet the following eligibility criteria at the start of the scholarship in the summer semester 2024 are eligible to apply: You

  • are enrolled at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences AND
  • have obtained a Bachelor's degree with a grade point average of at least 2.0 AND
  • have an admission or enrollment for the Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology AND
  • are characterized by professional ability, initiative and a sense of responsibility.

Unfortunately, applications from students who are already receiving financial support (e.g. as part of StudiumPLUS, cooperative study programs, Deutschlandstipendium, etc.) cannot be considered.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a selection decision. The Selection Committee consists of the following ex officio members

  • the dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology or a person appointed by this dean as chairperson,
  • the professorial representative of the Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
  • a representative of the Christian Bürkert Foundation or a person appointed by this foundation
  • the management of the Center of Competence or a person appointed by it

From the applications submitted in due form and time, the Selection Committee will use the selection criteria to select those applications that will be included in the selection, as well as other applications for a waiting list, if applicable. A selection interview is then held between the Selection Committee and the scholarship applicant.

The selection criteria for all applicants are

  1. the overall impression of the application (expressed, among other things, in the letter of motivation)
  2. the overall impression from the selection interview
  3. the final grade of the Bachelor's certificate

Required information and attachments are

  • personal data (online application form)
  • a letter of motivation of no more than two pages in which you clearly state
  1. why you are applying for the Christian Bürkert Foundation scholarship program
  2. what added value it will bring you
  3. what your main areas of study are
  4. what professional interests you are pursuing
  5. what your plans for the future are
  • a curriculum vitae in tabular form stating your Bachelor's degree grade
  • current confirmation of matriculation
  • Bachelor's certificate or, if not available, current grade sheet

The attachments must be compiled in the specified order in a PDF and uploaded. If the application documents are not in German or English, an officially certified translation into German is required.

If it is not possible to submit the application electronically or to scan and upload the attachments, the application may exceptionally be submitted in writing or the attachments may be submitted in paper form to:

Unfortunately, applications that are not submitted on time and in the correct form cannot be considered in the selection process.

The scholarship is usually awarded for 2 semesters or 12 calendar months, starting from the summer semester 2024, and includes the decision on the approval period, the amount of the scholarship and the funding period. Payment of the scholarship requires that the scholarship holder is enrolled at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Funding through the scholarship program is excluded if the student already receives material support based on talent and performance.

There is no legal entitlement to the scholarship.

Mailänder Consult - Scholarship

With the Mailänder Consult scholarship, we support Civil Engineering students who are involved in society or at university and have an interest in Planning Transportation Infrastructure in the areas of Transport Facilities, Engineering Structures, Control and Environment. The scholarship holders receive a monthly grant of 300 euros over two semesters and also benefit from the accompanying non-material support. This includes mentoring offers, the opportunity for internships, working student activities and thesis positions, the use of CAD/BIM programs to prepare their own term papers and the chance to gain practical insights into the fields of Transport Facilities, Civil Engineering, Environment and Project Management.

Siemens Talent Award

As part of the Siemens Talent Award in cooperation with Siemens AG, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences awards 3 scholarships for the Bachelor's degree programs in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechatronics or Artificial Intelligence in Engineering Sciences. We support talented students who are expected to achieve outstanding academic and professional results. The awards include an initial scholarship installment of 1,000 euros and a subsequent scholarship of 300 euros per month, usually for 24 months. In addition, the scholarship is combined with the opportunity to take up a paid internship, a working student position or a thesis.

TI Fluid Systems Scholarship

The TI Fluid Systems Scholarship supports talented and high-performing students from the third semester of their Bachelor's degree as well as Master's students in STEM degree programs who have an interest in the automotive industry and are involved in social and/or university activities. The scholarship is awarded over a period of two semesters in monthly installments of 300 euros. In addition to the total amount of 3,600 euros, you have the opportunity to take part in a mentoring program, to take up internships, working student positions or a thesis position by individual arrangement and to benefit from the range of events offered by the private sponsor TI Automotive Technology Center GmbH.

Scholarship of the VDE Mittelbaden e.V.

Through the VDE-Mittelbaden e.V. scholarship, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences supports students on the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology Bachelor's degree course in their second and third semesters. Each semester, the scholarship is awarded to a high-achieving student who demonstrates technical ability, initiative and a sense of responsibility. The scholarship comprises 300 euros per month for up to 12 months and is announced each semester. In addition, there is the possibility of receiving a one-year free membership of the VDE as well as a contact person and insight into the VDE network.

  • are enrolled at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences AND
  • are studying for a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (German program) AND
  • are in their second semester of the curriculum AND
  • are characterized by professional ability, initiative and a sense of responsibility.

An interest in the VDE, a willingness to get involved in the district association and (previous) social and/or university commitment are desirable.

Unfortunately, applications from students who are already receiving financial support (e.g. as part of the Deutschlandstipendium, etc.) cannot be considered. Students within the framework of StudiumPLUS can apply. Funding within the framework of StudiumPLUS is NOT an exclusion criterion for this cooperation scholarship.

  • the dean of the Electrical Engineering department or a person appointed by this dean as chairperson,
  • the professorial representative of the Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

The Vector Scholarship Program for the branches of studies Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology - Focus on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering and Information Technology - Focus on Electromobility supports talented students who are expected to achieve or have already achieved outstanding academic and professional results. The scholarships comprise 300 euros per month for 12 months as a rule. A mentoring program and invitations to exchange rounds and to participate in Vector training courses are just as much a part of the scholarship as the opportunity to take up a paid internship, a working student position or a thesis position.
