On May 27, 2025, Prof. Dr. Rose Marie Beck, President of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA), participated in the conference "Towards a Stronger Europe: Franco-German-Irish Perspectives on the Future of European University Alliances" held in Dublin. The event was organized by the French and German Embassies in Ireland together with the Irish Universities Association (IUA) and the Technological Universities Association (TUA). It provided a platform for exchange of best practices, discussing common challenges, and identifying strategic needs among established European University Alliances.
HKA is an integral part of the INGENIUM European University Alliance, which unites ten other universities Europe. At a panel moderated by Marie Rüppell-Wee, INGENIUM project director at HKA, President Beck joined three other representatives from prominent European university alliances to discuss key questions about the future of the initiative. She emphasized that these alliances not only enable new forms of European collaboration but also offer significant potential to pilot innovative teaching and research formats—delivering tangible benefits for students, researchers, and regional partners alike.
Earlier in May, President Beck made a compelling case for the vital role of Universities of Applied Sciences at a high-profile EU workshop in Paris (to the article). Her involvement in both events highlights HKA’s ongoing commitment to shaping European higher education and research policy through active leadership in the INGENIUM alliance.
