Chat-KI - Better opportunities for people with disabilities in the labor market through AI-supported information on support services

Objective

As part of the CHAT-KI project, a ChatBot based on modern AI-based language models is being developed to provide information on the various support services available to people with disabilities when taking up and maintaining employment in the primary labor market. The target group includes both employees and employers. Based on natural language queries, the accessible and low-threshold ChatBot provides the necessary information in a targeted manner. The aim is to promote the hiring of people with disabilities on the regular labor market and alleviate the labor shortage. Furthermore, service providers are supported by the upstream guidance function of the ChatBot. The support can also create better working conditions for people with disabilities.

Procedure

The project starts with a survey of the requirements and needs of the target groups with the aim of incorporating these iteratively into the development process. Once the identification and collection of relevant data on support services and their preparation has been completed, the AI solution is implemented together with the planned XAI component and the voice interfaces for audio output. This is followed by a holistic evaluation and iterative improvement of the solution.

When using the ChatBot, transparent disclosure of the respective sources of information is also key in order to build trust and make the support structures comprehensible. If necessary, the ChatBot will clarify the personal circumstances and the specific need for support by asking questions and referring people to the appropriate offices.
