Recap of the UR FUTUR Festival 2025 in Strasbourg, France

Together with its partners from the joint research project Interreg Robot Hub Academie, IRAS was represented at UR FUTUR 2025 in Strasbourg to present one of the project results, the >Robotic Compass<.

From November 5 to 7, 2025, we were represented at the first UR FUTUR festival in Strasbourg together with our partners from our Interreg - Robot Hub Academie research project. The trinational event brought together universities, companies and students from Germany, France and Switzerland and transformed the city into a living laboratory for the future.

The focus of our presence was the Robotic Compass - a modular, practical learning and orientation tool that provides a structured introduction to robotics. In 5 modules, topics such as robotics basics, control, safety and industrial applications are explained and presented in an understandable way. Together with the Université de Haute-Alsace (UHA) and the Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld, we were able to present the concept and gather valuable feedback from the tri-national environment.

The exchange on site showed how great the interest in accessible robotics formats is and how important cross-border cooperation remains for securing skilled workers in the Upper Rhine region.
A particular highlight of UR FUTUR is the origin of the event. UR FUTUR was brought to life through the cooperation of other Interreg projects such as TrinTed and TriRhenaTech.

Project funding

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the Interreg Upper Rhine funding initiative and has a total volume of €3.6 million. The Robot Hub Acedemic will run for three years, from April 1, 2023 to September 30, 2026. The project partners come from the regions of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Switzerland and Alsace.
