Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

Profile Content

Specialized knowledge in five directions

The development of automated industrial plants is the main focus of Industrial Automation. You will deal with the topics of control engineering, automation systems, process informatics as well as aspects of safety and quality assurance.

In the Electromobility and Autonomous Systems field of study you will deal with drive, control and storage technologies of electric vehicles. Since future mobility will be increasingly supported by autonomous systems emphasis is placed on technologies for the required sensor technology as well as sensor data processing.

In the field of Renewable Energies the faculty provides in-depth knowledge on generating electrical energy from renewable sources. The curriculum also includes knowledge on optimal power transmission, distribution and efficient use.

In Information Technology you'll dive deeper into aspects of digital processing of information, estimation theory, information transmission via radio waves and optical systems, and radio frequency systems.

In Sensor Technology you'll learn about the physical and chemical phenomena used in the design of sensors. These are complemented by aspects of environmental technology and microsystems engineering.

In the master's program you will specifically learn how to conduct independent academic research and writing. You will gain the competence to apply your knowledge to different tasks in order to develop solutions. You will practice presenting academic results in seminars so that you will later be able to present your results in a comprehensible way to an expert audience and to non-specialists.
