Energy System Analysis
The Energy System Analysis research group develops solutions for sustainable energy supply at the interface of research and practice in the context of the energy transition. This includes the energetic, ecological and economic optimisation of the operation and design of decentralised energy supply systems for commercial, industrial and private buildings.
In this context, the working group uses methods of mathematical modelling, simulation and optimisation both for structural optimisation, i.e. the optimised composition of energy systems, as well as for the operational optimisation of energy technology systems.
The methods developed by the research group for the analysis and optimization of energy systems are regularly published in recognized journals, and the associated software tools are made available to the public as open-source software.
