24th June, 2020
This year, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences took part again in the international ranking of higher education institutions U-Multirank. Being one of the few universities of applied sciences in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg to take part, HsKA thus emphasizes the significance of international orientation at our university.
U-Multirank, funded by the EU, has carried out rankings since 2014. This year, about 1,700 universities in 92 countries participated in the ranking, which allows, due to using a multitude of indicators, a differentiated scrutiny of the universities' individual strengths.
In this year's ranking, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences was again rated at the top for International Orientation, Research, Regional Engagement, as well as - for the first time - Knowledge Transfer. HsKA is well on its way to achieving our strategic aims, as is corroborated by a total of seven top marks in these categories and another three good ratings in the categories International Orientation as well as Teaching and Learning. Due to the multidimensional approach of the ranking, users can navigate according their own interests by choosing single criteria. This way, they can compare universities with a similar profile. Instead of listing different institutions by TOP-lists U-Multirank considers several indicators in each category (Teaching and Learning, Research, Knowledge Transfer, International Orientation, Regional Engagement) that are classified in five different levels of performance (ranging from "very good“ to "weak“). The reviews are based on evaluations by the university's own students and data provided by the universities.
