Vita
Uta Burghard studied social sciences at the Universities of Mannheim, Gießen and Brussels. From 2011 to 2024, she worked as a research associate and project manager at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, Karlsruhe, in the field of actors and acceptance in the transformation of the energy system. In 2014, she was a research fellow at the University of Aberdeen, Centre for Transport Research. In 2017, she completed her doctorate with her dissertation ‘Urbane Mobilität im Umbruch. Normen, Leitbilder und familiäre Aushandlungsprozesse zu Autos und Elektroautos’ at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Faculty of Cultural Studies. Between 2021 and 2024, she was a lecturer in the Master's programme RASUM - Risk Assessment and Sustainability Management at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
Since June 2024, she has been employed as an academic assistant at the Chair of Cycling at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.

Research
Main research areas: Social science mobility research and qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical social research. Strategies to promote cycling as an everyday means of transport and the relationship between mobility, social participation and gender aspects.
