On June 27, 2024, Petra Olschowski, Minister of Science, Research and Arts in Baden-Württemberg, visited Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) and our Institute for Intelligent Interaction and Immersive Experience (IIIX) together with her team.

They were accompanied by the Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Rose Marie Beck, the former Rector Prof. Dr. Frank Artinger, the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Franz Quint, and the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems, Prof. Franz Nees.

After a short round of introductions and opening words about the institute, the guests had the opportunity to try out various IIIX developments for themselves. Among other things, Prof. Dr. Wölfel and Daniel Hepperle presented a media-staged virtual hot-air balloon ride over Karlsruhe in 1834 and an immersive walk-through of the Hindenburg Zeppelin.

The visit was a complete success and was a great pleasure for everyone involved. The HKA and the IIIX are delighted with the visit and that they were able to provide insights into the work of their students and the institute.
