What will higher education look like in the future? The INGENIUM Education Labs demonstrate that innovative teaching can take many different forms: from inclusive assessment formats and flexible learning spaces to immersive learning experiences using virtual reality, AI-supported learning approaches, and sustainable education.
In a total of 14 joint Education Lab projects, faculty members, education experts, and researchers from various INGENIUM partner universities have developed new teaching and learning approaches. The projects were funded as part of the third call for proposals for joint Education Lab projects and combine international collaboration with concrete solutions for higher education.
From Inclusive Assessment to AI-Supported Learning
The projects cover a wide range of topics and demonstrate the diverse ways in which innovative teaching can be designed. These include, among others:
- Inclusive assessment and feedback formats that account for diverse learning needs and incorporate the use of AI
- Hybrid and flexible learning spaces that combine accessibility with innovative teaching concepts
- Virtual reality and immersive learning environments for practical training, AI as a learning partner to prepare students for
- AI-supported work processes
- Active breaks to promote engagement and well-being in higher education
- Artistic and creative learning methods to strengthen community and social participation,
- Green Chemistry and research-based approaches for sustainable education
- Practice-oriented and work-integrated learning
In this way, the projects not only provide new ideas for teaching but also concrete tools, models, and experiences that can be applied to other courses and universities.

In September 2026, the participating teams will present their projects in five concise online sessions. Each project presentation will last about 20 minutes and will be followed by a Q&A session and discussion. This will give participants the opportunity to engage directly with the project teams and learn more about the development and practical implementation of the new teaching approaches.
The webinars will take place on September 1, 2, 4, 8, and 9, 2026, at noon (CEST) each day. You can also attend individual presentations. Recordings will subsequently be available in the INGENIUM Education Lab playlist .
