efeuAkademie Bruchsal – Information Centre for Autonomous Urban Freight Logistics
Climate change is one of the most pressing problems of our time. The necessary reduction of CO2 emissions and issues such as sustainability, but also increasing urbanisation, rapidly growing e-commerce and social individualisation are putting our current goods mobility and its delivery routes to a tough test. We want our parcels delivered promptly and to our doorstep. In doing so, we risk congested roads, high particulate matter levels, traffic jams and noise pollution in the cities. But what can cities, municipalities, research institutions and companies do to improve the situation? The efeuCampus Bruchsal project addresses this question by focusing on automated and energy-efficient research approaches. Reclaiming quality of life while taking into account a sustainable lifestyle requires new, environmentally friendly and digital ways as well as innovative technology solutions, especially in the area of urban freight mobility.
The efeuAkademie communicates knowledge content for the overall project efeuCampus Bruchsal - Innovation Centre for Autonomous Urban Freight Logistics
efeuCampus - this stands for eco friendly experimental urban logistics campus and refers to a test field on the former site of the Dragoon Barracks in Bruchsal, which was founded in 2019. In the future, environmentally friendly, autonomous logistics solutions to relieve the inner cities will be developed and tested there. The RegioWin research project is funded by the EU and the state of Baden-Württemberg. In September 2019, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences launched the efeuAkademie sub-project.

The efeuAkademie serves as a communicative interface between the project consortium, the interested public, specialised journalists and politicians. It records developments in the overall project and communicates knowledge content in a way that is appropriate for the target group. In doing so, the efeuAkademie would like to provide the public with insights into the project with the help of various communicative measures and enable an exchange with different interest groups.

Results of the efeuAcademy
This is done not least through regular information and open-door events, expert conferences and participatory projects with residents of the campus and interested citizens. Since Corona, the efeuAkademy has increasingly used digital channels - such as social media and hybrid events. In addition to maintaining its own website, the academy manages the five social media channels (LinkedIn, Xing, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram) of the overall project. There, it communicates current developments and topics to the interested community in a timely manner. In addition, the efeuAkademie maintains contact with the (local) trade press and is continuously represented with trade articles, interviews, podcasts and press releases.
In addition, a knowledge database is implemented, which functions as a central contact point for information about efeuCampus. Furthermore, an efeuCampus showroom serves as an additional extension of the educational offer.
Goals of the efeuAkademie
The aim is to communicate innovation topics and educational content as transparently and sustainably as possible. The efeuAkademie does not only want to provide insights into the project, interested citizens are also invited to actively participate in the project. They also need to be made aware of important innovation topics (smart city, autonomous delivery by robots, etc.).
