The HKA Community is a student group at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences that brings students together through a wide range of social and cultural events. Our goal is to create welcoming spaces beyond the lecture halls, especially on campus, where students can connect, exchange ideas, and feel a sense of belonging. All HKA students are welcome, regardless of their background or field of study. You can join as an active member or simply take part in our events, many of which are free of charge. Within the HKA Community, students meet new people, discover different cultures, and find support in everyday student life. Together, we explore Karlsruhe, share experiences, and learn from one another, building friendships and a strong, supportive community along the way.

Our goals are:

• Giving people the opportunity to meet each other, for example through events or joint activities.
• Helping students to settle in, especially those who are new to the university or have particular difficulties in everyday life.
• Breaking down barriers, for example in terms of language, society or culture.

In short, we want to create places where all students feel seen, understood and welcome.

Among other things, we organize:

• Welcome program in the week before the start of the semester (winter semester)
• The HKA Song Contest (The HKA Song Contest is a competition in which students sing live in a foreign language they have learned, combining language, music and culture)
• Regular excursions, for example to Strasbourg, to cities in Baden-Württemberg or into nature
• Game nights, offering a relaxed setting to meet others and connect
