With the "Go East" initiative, the DAAD aims to attract more students from Germany for study and research stays in the countries of Central, Southeastern and Eastern Europe as well as South Caucasus and Central Asia.
This year, universities in the region are again offering Go East summer schools on a variety of topics. The program is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
Starting March 1, 2023, you can apply for one of the 33 summer schools in the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
The application process consists of two steps. You must apply to both the summer school for admission and the DAAD for a scholarship.
The application deadline in the DAAD portal is identical to the application deadline of the respective summer school.
